"I owe a lot to NYPT; my confidence, my ambitious drive, my communication skills and most importantly the early start to a life-long passion for the arts." - Emma Dunstan, Past NYPT Student
About Norwich Young Peoples Theatre NYPT was set up in 2004 with the sole aim of encouraging all young people to experience and enjoy the performing arts. At NYPT we are committed to increasing chances for young people to become involved in the Arts. Students are given the opportunity to succeed, the space and encouragement to be creative and expressive, and the occasions to mix socially with other young people. We believe that taking part in theatre making activities increases confidence in self, helps develop communication skills and is an integral part of a child’s development. We are very proud to be the first theatre company in East Anglia to be awarded the special social enterprise status of a Community Interest Company (CIC); an exciting and fast-growing sector designed for companies that want to use their profits and assets for the public good and not purely for private advantage or profit. One of the most wonderful things that has emerged from our original aims is the support that parents, guardians, volunteers, staff and all students show to each other. We have an amazing team here of which we are really proud.
