Junior Acting Classes (ages 5 - 8 and 9 - 12)

For the youngest students, the emphasis is on fun and creativity and there is a strong focus on physical and vocal activities. As the students mature we begin to teach specific drama skills: improvisation, characterisation, role play, creating plays and script work culminating in public performances. Students are encouraged to support, reflect and enjoy.

Class 1 (5 - 8 years)  / Sunday 1pm - 2.30pm / £55 (per 10 week term)

Class 2 (9 - 12 years) / Sunday 1pm - 2.30pm / £55 (per 10 week term)

Senior Acting Classes 13+ years

For the senior students, classes take the form of rehearsals for a play or musical. This enables students to develop their own core acting skills, whilst working on a range of texts and musical numbers at the same time. Rehearsals take place over the period of a term (ten weeks), or two terms for large-scale productions, with dress and technical rehearsals leading up to the production. Students are given the opportunity to perform their work in both established venues, site-specific locations and in the open-air.

Students are given the opportunity to work in a professional environment. Enthusiasm and commitment are essential.

Performance Group (13+ years) / Sunday 2pm - 5pm / £70 (per 10 week term)

NYPT Voices 13+ years

NYPT Voices is ideal for those students wishing to develop their technical singing ability or those who simply enjoy singing in a large group. NYPT Voices sing a variety of musical styles including Gospel, Rock, Pop, Soul, Classical and Jazz, mixing unison, solo and eight-part harmony singing.

NYPT Voices have recently performed at the opening of Connexions Norfolk, in the Wymondham Music Festival and have taken part in a variety of NYPT's large scale productions. For two years in a row they have performed at the turning on of the Norwich Christmas lights with a full band, in front of an audience of thousands.

Whether you have previous singing experience or are a beginner, come along to this friendly and relaxed group.

NYPT Voices / Monday 6.30pm - 8.30pm / £60 (per 10 week term)

NYPT Dance 13+ years

A dynamic class for young people of thirteen years upwards, who would like to develop their modern movement skills. Students will learn a range of choreographed routines set to music as diverse as pop, soul, funk, and jazz.

You don't need any previous experience of dancing, just energy and enthusiasm.
